Boating Tips and Tricks

Over the years we have found several tips and tricks to making owning and operating a boat easier.  Below we have shared some of them with you in hopes it will make your boating experience a little easier.

Docking an inboard that backs to the right
  1. Angle the nose of the boat at a 45 degree to the dock with the dock on your right.
  2. Slowly approach the dock keeping this angle.
  3. Once you are within fifteen thirty feet of the dock pull back to neutral.
  4. As you finish approaching the dock bump the throttle into reverse, this will swing the back of the boat toward the dock while pulling the nose away leaving you perfectly parallel to the dock.
  5. Have someone reach out and grab the dock.
Pivoting an inboard that backs to the right
  1. Turn the steering wheel completely toward the direction you want the front of the boat to go.
  2. Slowly bump the throttle into forwards, then back to reverse, and then back to forwards until the boat has rotated facing the direction you would like to go.
